“It was really fun weaving with my friends. I’m going to give mine to mum for Mother’s Day.”

Parents/guardians are required to stay for the duration of the workshop. While we all hold current Working With Children Checks, we are not childcare providers. We’re weavers who love sharing the joy of making by hand, and children remain the responsibility of their parent/guardian throughout the session.

The outdoor session will go ahead in cold weather.
If rain is forecast, a decision will be made 24 hours before the session and full refunds will be given.

No, but it’s super helpful that they come with a curious and patient attitude.
The looms will be set up with the warp already prepared (that’s the hard bit) and then your child can start weaving (which is the easier part) after watching all the instructions.

They’ll likely finish their piece by the end.
But making a short piece is ok. If there’s no time for hemming, they can take it home someone could sew it for them or leave it with Corrin who can sew it after the session and arrange pickup another time.

We’ve designed this workshop to be engaging, hands-on, and fun. It’s super helpful if your child arrives with a little curiosity and patience. Of course, every child is different - if your child really doesn’t want to continue, they’re welcome to step away. But in our experience, once they see their weaving come together, most are hooked and excited to finish.
